Packing up their favorite furnishings and extensive art collection from their previous abodes—a home in Massachusetts and a condo in Florida—was no easy feat.  Building a new home from foundation to landscaping was an even bigger conquest and became a true labor of love.

From soup to nuts, every element–textures and fabric, furnishings and finishing touches–was chosen with focus and care to cultivate an environment that would be homey, yet polished to showcase an outstanding assortment of artwork and designer pieces.

While both traditional and transitional furniture from previous residences were incorporated into the interior design scheme, new furnishings were needed.  The home features the best of trade showrooms from Jupiter to Miami and some fabulous online finds, too!

In the kitchen–where finding that perfect piece presented a challenge, Kari went above and beyond to custom-design a fabulous breakfast settee and table.

Merging new and old, as well as northern and southern style, this residence is sophisticated and modern.

With such eclectic taste and a passion for fine art, this couple could have opened their own museum.  Yet, they found the right designer who was able to fashion their favorite items with perfect symmetry to make this a place they can luxuriate in and call home.

Track lighting was incorporated into the design scheme brilliantly—highlighting pictures and wall art in hallways and serving as a subtle room definer in the den to cozy up the space.

In the kitchen, white on white is balanced with rustic flooring and wood cabinetry for a look that is not too stark and not too rural, but lively and elegant.  Cylindrical pendants offset the sharp linear edges of cabinetry and hardware; under cabinet lights illuminate and accentuate texture and detail in tile and countertops.

The dining room is a majestic mix of modern design that goes from natural sunlight streaming through windows in the day to sultry illumination from the dual square pendant over the rectilinear wood table in the evening.  Defining characteristics, including central artwork on the red wall and rustic flooring, combine in a way that is visually captivating and serene.
